2010 SFCRACEWAY RULE BOOK
RULE BOOK DISCLAIMER
The rules and/or regulations set forth herein is designed to provide for the orderly conduct of racing events & to establish minimum acceptable requirements for such events. These rules shall govern the conditions of all events, & by participating in these events, all participants are deemed to have complied with these rules. No expressed or implied warranty of safety shall result from publications of or compliance with these rules and/or regulations. These are intended as a guide for the conduct of the sport & are in no way a guarantee against injury or death to a participant, spectator, or official.
The race director shall be empowered to permit reasonable & appropriate deviation from any of the specifications herein or impose any further restrictions that in his opinion do not alter the minimum acceptable requirements. No expressed or implied warranty of safety shall result from such alteration of specifications. Any interpretation or deviations from these rules are left to the discretion of the official. THEIR DECISION IS FINAL!!
ABSOLUTELY NO ONE under 16 (sixteen) years of age will be allowed in the pit area without the written consent of a parent/guardian and then they MUST HAVE A PAID PIT PASS.
Track Admission: Grandstands - Adults $10.00 - 12 & Under Free - Pit Pass $25.00 for Adults & Kids. Pit Pass armbands must be worn by kids & Adults all night and must be on the person signed in. If you are caught without an armband you will be escorted to the pit gate to pay. 2nd time you are caught you will not be allowed in the pit area again.
St. Francois County Raceway warns everyone racing is dangerous. You could be injured or killed, even though we carry insurance - Participate at your own risk!
Any Specifications not discussed in these rules whose legality is questionable will be considered illegal until approved by track officials.
Sprint car & A-Modified class will run a dash & will draw a pill with the pit steward. We will take 2 cars out of each heat race for the dash if there are 3 or more heat races. Less than 3 heats we will take 3 cars out of each heat. 1 lap per car for the dash.
The pit area must be cleared within 60 minutes of the completion of the race program for insurance purposes.
Only one vehicle per race car is allowed in the pit area. No personal vehicles without a permit.
One 4-wheeler is accepted for each race car, anyone speeding through pit area will lose 4-wheeler privileges for the year. NO JOY RIDING IN THE PIT AREA ESPECIALLY KIDS!!!!!!!!! 1 REMEMBER, RACING IS FUN!!!!
GENERAL TRACK RULES
1. Initial START will begin at white line between Turn Four and the main Flag Stand. You cannot pass until your car crosses the white line. All must complete 1 lap or complete restart will occur.
2. At the Start of the race, if a car jumps the start 2 times the front row will be moved to the 2nd row & the 2nd row will be moved to the 1st row.
3. Once a race has completed one (1) full lap and a caution occurs, restart will be single file starting at the cone & no passing until you pass the cone. If a car goes to inside of, or hits the cone a caution will occur and the car will go to the rear of the field. If this happens a second time by the same car it will result in a black flag.
4. Cars will restart single file nose to tail. No passing until you pass the cone.
5. Cars not taking green flag to start the race will not be allowed on the track.
6. Any car stopping on the track will be put in the rear and charged with a yellow.
7. When a caution occurs on track, all drivers will slow, remain in position. Race will revert to the last completed lap.
8. Any car stopping in a caution on any lap will go to the rear of the field.
9. THE CAUTION WILL NO LONGER COME OUT WHEN YOU DO A 360 SPIN UNLESS YOU STOP !!!!!
10. All red flag lineups will go to the last completed green flag lap.
11. NO ONE IS ALLOWED ON THE TRACK EXCEPT TRACK OFFICIALS, NO EXCEPTIONS!!!! Anyone caught on the track could result in removal from the pit area.
12. Any driver leaving their car to argue with official or another driver on or off the track will be barred for two race nights.
13. Drivers are responsible for their pit crew.
14. Any threatening from the driver, crew member or fan toward any other driver, track official or fan will be escorted from the premises immediately.
15. Any physical contact from the driver, crew member or fan toward any other driver or track official will be suspended for 2 weeks or indefinitely.
16. If you are involved in a wreck you must stay with your car to help. If you leave your car it will be taken to the infield & left until it is convenient to get back to the pit area.
17. All classes may go off the track on a yellow caution and change a flat tire in the designated location and may return on the track before the green flag is dropped. Sprints designated locations will be on the orange concrete pad by the exit at turn #3 A- Modified's, Limited Modifieds & Pure Streets designated location is at the scales or the orange concrete pad by the exit at turn #3. Car must return on track before green flag is dropped again, we will not wait on driver.
18. Anyone leaving the track for any reason & returning to the track in that race must go to the rear of the field.
19. No working on cars on the track except on open red flag conditions wait for pit steward to give the okay to go on track. Any person caught on the track attempting to work on a car under a closed red flag will be removed along with the driver & car.
20. All cars that change a flat tire on a Red must go to the orange concrete work area to change a tire and they must go to rear of field. If a tire is changed on the track then the car is disqualified.
21. Courtesy laps will only be given until lineup is correct. You must change a flat tire at the designated work area.
22. Any cars lining up by turns 3 and 4 must line up behind the orange cone by the parts trailer. Any car lined up in front of the orange cone will have to start in the back of that race. (This is for the safety of the drivers)
23. Courtesy Rule: Any car from another track with minor rule differences may at management's discretion, race on that night but will be notified of any modifications & will have to be legal on the next visit to the track.
24. All Points go to the driver (Not the car). If you are driving for someone else, you MUST tell the girls at the pill draw window & the pit steward, if not you will not receive any money or points.
25. Anyone changing cars or drivers from heat to feature race will start on the rear of the field. The car you change into must be a qualified car and you will still have to start on the rear. If it is not a qualified car than you must run the semi. Anyone changing must notify officials or they will be disqualified.
26. ALL RULES ARE ENFORCED BY TRACK OFFICIALS AND ARE FINAL AND WILL NOT BE CHANGED BY PROMOTER!!!!
27. Any incident or occurrences not covered in these rules will be ruled upon by the track officials after all races are finished.
28. St. Francois County raceway assumes no responsibility for damage to or loss of your equipment, vehicles, or any parts whatsoever. No personal vehicles are allowed in the pit area, except what is hooked to a race trailer.
29. The management reserves the right to change the race program or rules at any time to improve the racing program.
30. Pill draw for all classes will be from 4:30 -5:30 pm. Persons drawing pill must sign in by the pill draw number they get. If you are not there by 5:30 pm to draw your pill you will be put on the back of the heat. If you draw 2 pills you will receive the highest number you draw out.
31. Drivers may pick up their winnings starting after the Sprint Feature and until 15 minutes after the last race.
32. You MUST sign a receipt for points & money at pay window. If any driver or crew member argues or uses fowl language with the ladies at the window your money & points will be held till track promoter talks with you.
33. All cars must weigh after heats, & semi races. All top 10 cars must weigh after the feature; go directly to scales after your race if you pass up scales you will lose points & money for that race.
34. First offense for aggressive driving you will be charged with a yellow and sent to the rear. Second offense for aggressive driving you will be charged with a black flag and you & car are done for the night and the driver will lose all points & money.
35. For over aggressive driving you will be black flagged and you & car are done for the night and will not receive any points or money. Call will be determined by track official on over aggressive driving.
36. Any driver slamming into another car during a yellow flag or after the race will be disqualified for that race and will not receive any point or money for that race.
37. Lineups will be posted. It is the driver's responsibility to be lined up in his proper position prior to the finish of the proceeding race.
38. If you do not weigh after the feature, everyone after that spot will be moved up a position.
39. If the leader takes the checkered flag & wreck occurs, then the cars will be scored as they pass the finish line. If a wreck occurs before the leader takes the checkered flag, then it will go back to green, white checkered.
40. Points will be given for the heat, dash, & feature in each class.
41. If we get rained out or any other uncontrollable occurrences happens (electric outage, fire, etc.) in the middle of the race program, and all heats is ran, then it is considered a full night & features will be made up another night.
42. Any points race ending in a tie will be determined by the most feature wins. If there is no feature wins then it be determined by the most seconds, then thirds and so on.
43. If the last points night is rained out, then points are determined by the finish of the previous race night.
44. If you have a problem or you think something is not right, you need to go to the owner and see what can be worked out to solve the problem. It takes the drivers, fans, pit crews, & family to make a great track work.
45. If you get into a fight before, during or after the races you will be kicked out for 2 race nights. Second offence you will be out the rest of the year.
46. IF ANY DRIVER GETS INTO A FIGHT AT OUR ANNUAL RACE BANQUET, HE/SHE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO RACE FOR THE FIRST 2 RACES OF THE NEXT SEASON.
PROTEST RULES
1. Cars may be inspected at anytime by track officials.
2. All protests must be made to your pit steward within 5 minutes after the feature race is completed. The driver must have the correct amount of cash in his possession.
3. Protests: Top half of motor, (intake, one cylinder head, bore and stroke) $100, complete motor, (top half plus removal of rod and piston, check crank shaft) $250, transmission, (includes clutch, flywheel) $75.
4. Cubic inch tester $75.
5. If you are protested & do not tear down, you will be disqualified and suspended for two (2) race nights & lose all money and points for that night. If you are protested again & you do not tear down, you will have to move up to the next class.
6. Only cars which finish on the same lap and in top ten positions of the feature race will be allowed to protest. The race team protesting will be allowed the driver and one member of its crew. The race team that is being protested will be allowed the driver, the owner and up to two crew members. Only those people and track officials will be allowed. All final results of protest will be announced that night and next night of racing.
7. Only the driver of a race car will be allowed to protest another car.
8. Any pure street car winning 3 feature wins (consecutive or nonconsecutive) will go through complete inspection, if car does not have inspection plug in the oil pan then motor will be pulled & tore apart. SAFETY RULES
1. There will be no drinking of alcoholic beverages or use of any controlled substances in the pit area before, during, or after the race program. Anyone deemed under the influence of alcohol, or a controlled substance, or having either in their possession, would be immediately suspended. In the event of a violation of a controlled substance, the proper authorities will be notified.
2. All drivers in all classes must wear a full fire suit and approved helmet and an approved 3-inch restraint system, which must be updated in 3 year intervals. Fire retardant gloves, shoes, socks, underwear and neck braces are highly recommended.
3. All cars must be equipped with approved fuel cells.
4. A minimum size of 16-inch numbers must be on each side of the car.
5. No two-way radios allowed in pit or in cars.
6. ALL CARS MUST HAVE A WINDOW NET OR USE ARM RESTRAINTS. And at least 3 vertical bars in front of the driver.
7. WE STRONGLY URGE YOU TO WEAR NECK RESTRAINTS FOR YOUR SAFTEY.
8. Cars may be inspected by track officials.
9. Speed limit anywhere in the pits is IDEL SPEED only, for RACE CARS and ATV's.
10. No one is allowed to argue or discuss any item with track officials while a race is in progress. Abusive or improper language by anyone will not be tolerated. Any type of physical assault by anyone may result in arrest by a county deputy.
11. All weight must be painted white, have a car number on them, and bolted. No rearview mirrors will be allowed.
12. All cars must have a front and rear bumper at a reasonable height for pushing and must have a chain or steel loop device attached to the center of the chassis on the front and rear to provide wrecker hook-up. FLAGS 1. Green flag and light means racing.
2. YELLOW FLAG MEANS CAUTION, SLOW DOWN IMMEDIATELY AND MAINTAIN POSITION.
A- MODIFIED CLASS
We will not be an International Motor Contest Association sponsored track for 2009 season. We will adopt the IMCA rules, except for Motor Claim & Shock Rules:
1. ROLL CAGE: Must consist of continuous hoops, minimum 1.50-inch O.D. tubing, with a minimum wall thickness of .095-inch for main cage, frame-mounted in at least six places, low carbon or mild steel recommended. Must consist of a configuration of front, rear and top hoops connected by tubing on sides or side hoops. Driver's head must not protrude outside cage with helmet on. Roll cage must be securely supported and braced with minimum one cross bar in top halo. Foot protection bar required. Main cage no further forward than rear of engine. All bars forward of cage must be lower than hood.
2. DOOR BARS: All drivers side door bars and uprights must be minimum 1.5-inch O.D. and .083-inch wall thickness. Minimum three driver side door bars, parallel to ground & perpendicular to driver, and welded to front and rear of roll cage, passenger side must have at least one cross door bar, horizontal or angled, minimum 1.25-inch O.D. & .083 inch wall thickness, and one top door bar, minimum 1.5 inch O.D. & .083 inch wall thickness, steel door plate 18 gauge or .049-inch minimum thickness, must be securely welded to outside of driver side door bars & cover area from top door bar to bottom door bar and from rear hoop down post to 5 inches in front of seat. MUST BE VISABLE FOR INSPECTION.
3. SAFETY: Rules apply at all times car is on track. Snell rated SA95 or SA2000 helmet are required. SFI approved full fire suit, gloves & shoes required. Recommended fire retardant head sock and underwear, head and neck restraints. Driver side window net required, & must be mounted so latch is at top front of window or arm restraints. Minimum three - inch wide five - point safety belt assembly required. Must be mounted securely to roll cage, recommended to be no more than one year old. Kill switch required within easy reach of driver and must be clearly marked ‘OFF' and ‘ON'.
4. FRAME: OEM complete 1964 or newer, perimeter American rear-wheel drive passenger car frame only. No sports car frames. Frames must be full & complete, cannot be widened or narrowed, & must be able to support roll cage on both sides, except weight jack in original center line of spring tower allowed: frame may be cut a maximum 36 inches forward from center of rear housing: horns may be removed in front of steering box: front cross member may be notched and boxed for radiator and/or steering clearance:. Maximum seven inch wide opening in side of spring tower for spring removal. Maximum two inch wide by four inch tall frame stiffener may be welded directly to outside of left side frame rail. Minimum wheelbase is 108 inches, maximum is 112 inches, both sides. Maximum overall width (front or rear) shall not exceed 78 inches from outside of tire. No part of frame can be lower than four inches from ground except front cross member.
5. BODY: Must be same width, front to rear, and parallel to OEM frames. Engine compartment must remain open (no side panels). Hood must be enclosed at rear, no panel in front of right door to engine compartment. No inner panels, No car covers. Must have front windshield and rear window support posts. Driver and passenger side windows must have at least 12-inch opening, measured at center of window, between lowest point at top of window, whether roof or roll cage, and highest point at bottom of window, whether interior or body. May use Lexan in sail panels, may use full windshield. Must be fiberglass or aluminum full size roof rounded in all directions. ( roof escape panel is allowed) No wings or spoilers, maximum 4-inch plastic skirting allowed on bottom of doors and quarters. Outside of tires must be widest part of car.
6. DRIVER COMPARTMENT: Must have a minimum three windshield bars in front of driver. Lexan or aluminum cowl panel in front of driver can be no wider than cockpit and no farther back than steering wheel. Minimum .125-inch aluminum, or .060-inch steel, complete floor pan required. Aluminum high-back seat only and must be bolted in next to left side frame rail and ahead of rear tires. Bottom of seat can be no lower than bottom of frame rail. Driver must be sealed off from race track, driveline, engine, fuel cell, canisters and pumps. Oil coolers must not protrude above interior. Accumulators cannot be mounted between driver & left-side door bars. No devices that would enable driver adjustment to alter wheelbase or for weight jacking while car is in competition. No mirrors or reflective sun visors.
7. FRONT SUSPENSION: All components must be steel, unaltered OEM, in OEM location and replaced by OEM parts, except tube type upper A-frames with or without aluminum/steel cross shaft & mounts can be moved. OEM replacement lower A-frames bushings only, no offset or bearing type. All lower A-frame mounts and bolt holes on frame must be in stock location. Only altering allowed on lower A-frame displaying I.M.C.A. approved decal; lower A frame must be right & left & of same design; rubber, nylon, or steel lower A frame bushings, no offset or bearing type: welded or bolted shock mount on lower A frame. Lower A frame mounts & bolt holes on frame must be in OEM, location. OEM ball joints only. Sway bar must be unaltered OEM.
8. STEERING: All components must be steel, unaltered OEM, in OEM location. except outer tie rod end & adjustment sleeve may be replaced by a minimum .625-inch steel rod end and steel tube; spindles can be ground for brake caliper clearance only; unaltered, OEM replacement Pinto spindles with I.M.C.A. raised cast, spindles must be right & left, & of the same design; bolt on spindle savers allowed; steel steering shafts & knuckles only. Steering quickener, steering wheel & quick release may be aluminum. Cockpit steering may be modified, must be kept on left side. No rack & pinion.
9. SHOCKS: One steel non-adjustable unaltered shock per wheel. One additional shock allowed on rear suspension. No bumpers or stops, no threaded body, front coil over, air or remote reservoir shocks. No Schrader valves. Front half may be shielded.
10. SPRINGS: One steel, non progressive coil over spring and/or steel leaf spring per wheel only. One additional spring allowed on pull bar or lift bar, may be progressive. Any coil spring must be at least 4.5 inches O.D. No torsion bars or air bags.
11. REAR SUSPENSION: All components must be steel. No covers allowed. All trailing arms/link bars must be solid tubing. Rear of frames may be altered to accept leaf or coil springs. Steel coil over eliminators or steel/aluminum coil over kits allowed. Must conform to shock and spring rules. One mechanical traction bar (pull or lift bar not both). Rubber bumpers allowed only on pan hard bar & mechanical traction bar, No sway bar, No chains, or cables (except on front lifter bar.)
12. REAR END: Any steel approved OEM passenger car or truck rear end allowed. Safety hubs (floater) allowed. All components must be steel, except lowering blocks, axle cap, and drive flange. Inspection hole in housing is required. Full steel spool, steel mini spool or welded rear ends only. Steel axles only. Quick Change rear ends are allowed.
13. BUMPERS AND RUB RAILS: Steel only. Bumpers must be used both front and rear at all times and welded or mounted with minimum .375-inch bolts. Must be minimum 1.25-inch O.D. tubing, .065 wall thickness on front, .095 wall thickness on rear. Two-bar front bumpers must be mounted to frame-end to frame-end, no wider than width of material outside frame horns and with bottom loop parallel to ground. Top bar must be directly above bottom bar, minimum 6.5 inches apart, measured center to center. Rear bumper and nerf bars can be no wider than tires.
14. TIRES AND WHEELS: Must use unaltered Hoosier G-60 (KK704) with I.M.C.A. stamped on sidewall. No softening or grooving of tires. (siping & grinding is allowed) No re-caps. Aluminum or steel spacers only. May use I.M.C.A. approved bead lock, on right rear only. External, steel bead lock only and it cannot make wheel any narrower than 8 inches and no wider than 8.75 inches. Must use only steel bolts. One foam type or plastic mud cap allowed on right rear only. Rim-mounted bleeder valves allowed.
15. BRAKES: Must be steel approved OEM, operative four wheel, drum or disc. Must maintain OEM dimensions for Hubs/rotors and calipers, cannot be lightened. Bolt patter may be changed. Larger studs allowed. Rear rotors may be aftermarket, min. 0.810-inch thickness. Vented rotors only, no scalloped rotors. No brake shut-off or pressure sensitive devices. One proportioning device allowed, front to rear only. Brake lines must be visible.
16. EXHAUST: Round tube headers only. All primary header tubes must enter directly into one collector, at same point, at end of header. No exhaust sensors.
17. FUEL SYSTEM: Mechanical or belt driven fuel pump only and must be mounted at front of engine. Racing fuel cell required, maximum 32-gallon capacity, must be in minimum 18-gauge steel container. Cell must be securely mounted behind rear axle, between rear tires, minimum of four inches ahead of bumper, minimum of ten inches above ground. Must mount with minimum two .125-inch thick solid steel straps, two inches wide around entire cell. All cell mounts must be steel, securely welded to frame/cage. Protective tubing must cover rear & extend past both sides of cell. No part of cell shall be lower than protective tubing. Fuel cell vents, including cap vent, must have check valves. Pick-up must be on top or right side of cell. Limit of one fuel filter. No cool cans. One naturally aspirated 2- or 4-barrel carburetor only.
18. FUEL: Gasoline or alcohol. NO performance-enhancing additives. Upper cylinder lube allowed. Fuel sample may be taken from any car at any time. Penalty for illegal fuel is disqualification from event and $250 fine - first offense. MUST HAVE FUEL SHUT OFF THAT DRIVER CAN REACH FROM INSIDE OF CAR.
19. WEIGHT: Minimum weight limit of 2,450 pounds, no tolerance, after race with driver in car. No weights and/or loose objects in driver compartment or outside body. Weights must be securely mounted to frame or roll cage and painted white with car number on it. Must be attached with at least two .5-inch bolts. No titanium, magnesium. No gun-drilled, tubular, hollow bolts or studs.
20. BATTERY AND STARTER: One 12-volt battery only, must be shielded & securely mounted between frame rails. Must have capability of starting without being pushed or pulled. Must leave initial staging area on demand, unaided, or go to rear of that race. Reverse-mount starters with OEM case transmissions only.
21. GAUGES AND ELECTRONICS: No transmitting or listening devices, timing retard controls, or digital gauges (including tach). No electronic monitoring computer devices capable of storing or transmitting information except along tach. No adjustable ignition control boxes. Only one 12-volt ignition box allowed, must be out of driver's reach. No additional ignition accessories allowed. Only change allowed to ignition box is one high-end rev-limiter setting. This setting can be changed through one chip only, or an internal setting inside box. No electronic traction control devices ($10,000 fine).
22. TRANSMISSION AND DRIVESHAFT: Must have at least two forward gears & one reverse, plus a neutral position. With engine running and car in still position, must be able to engage car in gear & move forward, then backward. OEM production type I.M.C.A. approved after-market transmissions allowed two speed, three speed, four speed and automatic. No five speed (or more) transmissions, in & out boxes, or quick change devices allowed. Functioning shift levers must be in OEM location on all OEM production type transmissions. All belt drive pumps must be mounted on front of engine. Flex plates must be full steel, unaltered OEM or OEM replacement. Flywheel/flex plate must bolt to engine between clutch assembly & crankshaft & all driving components within bell housing must rotate while car is in any gear. Transmissions must be one of the following designs: MANUAL: Must have a standard OEM case & working disc-type clutch or approved cone or disc type coupler inside an explosion proof steel bell housing. One fly wheel only, minimum 8.5 inches diameter. Diameter of clutch disc must be a minimum of 5.5 inches. Clutch assembly must be steel, except housing, which must be steel and/or aluminum. Bell housing can have only a hole for throw out bearing lever or hose, must be 270 degrees around top of clutch and flywheel area. Standard or reverse mount starter allowed, must directly engage flywheel. AUTOMATIC: Must remain in OEM or OEM replacement case with a functioning OEM appearing pump. Must have an approved scatter shield. Scatter shield must be constructed of minimum of .125-inch by three-inch steel, 270 degrees around flex plate. AFTERMARKET: Must be I.M.C.A. approved. aluminum case, with internal clutch. Must bolt to explosion-proof steel bell housing, & use full steel, unaltered OEM or OEM replacement flex plate with starter mounted in OEM location. No coatings or paint allowed on transmission case. DRIVE SHAFT: Minimum two-inch diameter steel drive shaft & must be painted white. Steel slip-yokes only. 360-degree drive shaft loop required and must be constructed of at least .25-inch by two-inch steel, or one-inch tubing, mounted six inches back from front U-joint.
23. ENGINE LOCATION: Rear of engine (bell housing flange) must be mounted at least 72 inches forward from the centerline of rear axle. Engines offset must be kept within 2 inches of centerline of front cross member with engine level. Minimum 11-inch engine height from ground to center of crankshaft. Radiator must be mounted in front of engine. Cooling system may be modified. Overflow tubes must be directed to ground between frame rails.
24. ENGINE SPECIFICAIONS: Any American made engine allowed. Steel heads, block & oil pan only. Any steel blocks allowed, Ford SVO or Chrysler W-2 blocks. All engines must be able to be used in conventional passenger car without alterations. Engine mounts cannot be removed or altered. Castings and fittings must not be changed. No machine work on outside of engine. Wet oiling system only. External oil pumps go with engine if claimed.
Aluminum heads or after market lower A arms and aluminum bell housing are allowed, but must bolt on 50 pounds from motor plate forward. Total weight min. is 2500 pounds with driver.
PURE STREET
No Motor Claim
1. Any American Coupe or Sedan.
2. Body must not be shortened, sectioned or have chopped tops. MUST REMAIN STOCK APPEARING. After market aluminum bodies are legal. Must be stock appearing.
3. Stock firewall, stock floor pan must extend to rear of driver's seat. Floor pan must cover transmission.
4. Frame must remain Stock.
5. Fenders may be trimmed to allow tire clearance.
6. Sub-frame cars may be tied together under car.
7. Front & rear bumpers in Stock position required & must be rounded off.
8. Nose & grill may be replaced with plastic.
9. Nerf bars not to exceed 1 inch from body & maximum 1 1/2 diameter.
10. Fuel Cell is Mandatory. No boat tanks or homemade gas containers allowed. Trunk flooring may be removed to mount cell. Fuel cells MUST be contained in reinforced steel container & securely mounted.
11. Battery may be relocated, but not in driver's compartment.
12. Doors MUST be welded shut.
13. All glass & flammable material must be removed.
14. Cars must have a MINIMUM 6 point roll cage, 1 1/2 inch minimum diameter pipe, securely welded to frame. Three (3) driver's side door bars required NO BLACK or galvanized pipe allowed.
15. After market pedals will be allowed as long as brakes are not adjustable.
16. Fiberglass hoods are allowed.
17. Driver must have a chain through the front nose & on the rear of the car for a wreaker to hook up to.
SUSPENSION:
1. Stock type suspension in stock location.
2. No weight jacks.
3. Front shocks must be in stock location. Rear shocks may be relocated if needed & only one shock per wheel.
4. Lowering will be allowed.
5. Right front safety hub is optional.
6. No Sliders. Adjustable shackles are allowed.
7. Quick steer allowed.
8. No Chrysler springs allowed except on Chrysler cars.
9. Engine set back - left front spark plug hole can be no farther back than center of upper ball joint.
REAR ENDS:
1. Rear end must be locked or posi-trac.
2. 9 inch Ford rear ends permitted.
3. Rear disc brakes permitted.
4. Floating rear ends are optional, but no 3/4 ton truck rear ends.
TRANSMISSION:
1. Stock material or stock automatic transmission with stock torque converter. (Must have all working gears)
2. Stock flywheel, clutch, & pressure plate.
3. No aluminum flywheels.
4. No aluminum drive shafts. 5. Drive shaft loop REQUIRED.

1. Cars must weigh 2950 lbs. with driver after races.
TIRES:
1. Track tires-asphalt scuffed takeoffs must durometer 50 or harder or 8 inch highway street tires. (NO NEW TIRES OR MUD OR SNOW TIRES)
2. 8 or 10 inch steel wheels
3. 8 or 10 inch bead lock allowed on right front & right rear only.
4. 1 inch lug nuts MANDATORY.
FUEL:
1. Straight Racing gas permitted.
2. No nitrous oxide or alcohol.
3. Cars must have a fuel shut off that driver can reach when in car.
ENGINES:
1. 362 cubic inch MAXIMUM. Motor to be stock GM to GM, Ford to Ford, etc.
2. Stock production cast iron heads only. No porting or polishing.
3. Stock rocker arms only. No roller tip or roller rocker arms.
4. Screw- in studs & guide plates allowed.
5. After market camshafts are allowed. No rollers.
6. Must pull 15 inch of vacuum at 1000 RPM'S. Vacuum to be pulled from base of carburetor or intake. Vacuum will be checked after Feature Race. 12- volt hookup for track tack required. All engines must be turned off after vacuum test and must have spot to pull vacuum immediately at time of test.
7. Flat top or dished pistons only. Two valve relief piston allowed.
8. 5.7 Stock appearing rods only. (after market rod bolts okay)
9. Stock crank.
10. Stock style HEI or point distributor & must have stock coil & module. No super coils, magnetos, or MSD boxes are allowed.
11. Cast iron or aluminum 2 or 4 barrel intakes allowed. No air gap type intakes.
12. Carburetors spacer NOT exceeding 2 inch IN HEIGHT.
13. Mechanical fuel pump in stock location. Stock manual fuel pump. No electric or belt driven pumps.
14. Headers or exhaust manifolds allowed. NO. 180 degree headers.
15. Carburetor can be NO larger than Holley 500 CFM 2 barrel & must pass inspection from top side with gauge. (Must be stock venture 1 3/8 inch) Choke horn may be removed.
16. Oil pans need to have ¾ inspection plug on side of oil pan.
17. Any Pure Street car winning 3 features (consecutive or nonconsecutive) in a row will go through complete inspection, if car does not have inspection plug in the oil pan then motor will be pulled & tore apart.
ALL GENERAL RULES APPLY
SPRINTS
1. Right rear tire must be a Goodyear brand number 200 or 300 and but be ran starting the first night of racing. Left rear tires must be a 100, 200 or 300. Tires will be bought at track by track dealer. (Left rear tires has to be Goodyear by the 6th week of racing.)
2. Track tires will be checked before you race, if caught with illegal tires, driver will lose points and money for that race night.
3. All drivers should be in line and ready to go before their race session. The race will not be held up for you if you are not in line ready to go.
4. Sprints must run a muffler. Any acceptable.
LIMITED MODIFIED CLASS
1. ROLL CAGE: Must consist of continuous hoops, minimum 1.50-inch O.D. tubing, with a minimum wall thickness of .095-inch for main cage, frame-mounted in at least six places, low carbon or mild steel recommended. Must consist of a configuration of front, rear and top hoops connected by tubing on sides or side hoops. Driver's head must not protrude outside cage with helmet on. Roll cage must be securely supported and braced with minimum one cross bar in top halo. Foot protection bar required. Main cage no further forward than rear of engine. All bars forward of cage must be lower than hood.
2. DOOR BARS: All drivers side door bars and uprights must be minimum 1.5-inch O.D. and .083-inch wall thickness. Minimum three driver side door bars, parallel to ground & perpendicular to driver, and welded to front and rear of roll cage, passenger side must have at least one cross door bar, horizontal or angled, minimum 1.25-inch O.D. & .083 inch wall thickness, and one top door bar, minimum 1.5 inch O.D. & .083 inch wall thickness, steel door plate 18 gauge or .049-inch minimum thickness, must be securely welded to outside of driver side door bars & cover area from top door bar to bottom door bar and from rear hoop down post to 5 inches in front of seat. MUST BE VISABLE FOR INSPECTION.
3. SAFETY: Rules apply at all times car is on track. Snell rated SA95 or SA2000 helmet are required. SFI approved full fire suit, gloves & shoes required. Recommended fire retardant head sock and underwear, head and neck restraints. Driver side window net required, & must be mounted so latch is at top front of window or arm restraints. Minimum three - inch wide five - point safety belt assembly required. Must be mounted securely to roll cage, recommended to be no more than three year old. Kill switch required within easy reach of driver and must be clearly marked ‘OFF' and ‘ON'. A small Fire extinguisher in drivers compartment is mandatory. 4. FRAME: OEM complete 1964 or newer, perimeter American rear-wheel drive passenger car frame only. No sports car frames. Frames must be full & complete, cannot be widened or narrowed, & must be able to support roll cage on both sides, except weight jack in original center line of spring tower allowed: frame may be cut a maximum 36 inches forward from center of rear housing: horns may be removed in front of steering box: front cross member may be notched and boxed for radiator and/or steering clearance:. Maximum seven inch wide opening in side of spring tower for spring removal. Maximum two inch wide by four inch tall frame stiffener may be welded directly to outside of left side frame rail. Minimum wheelbase is 108 inches, maximum is 112 inches, both sides. Maximum overall width (front or rear) shall not exceed 78 inches from outside of tire. No part of frame can be lower than four inches from ground except front cross member.
5. BODY: Must be same width, front to rear, and parallel to OEM frames. Engine compartment must remain open (no side panels). Hood must be enclosed at rear, no panel in front of right door to engine compartment. No inner panels, No car covers. Must have front windshield and rear window support posts. Driver and passenger side windows must have at least 12-inch opening, measured at center of window, between lowest point at top of window, whether roof or roll cage, and highest point at bottom of window, whether interior or body. May use Lexan in sail panels, may use full windshield. Must be fiberglass or aluminum full size roof rounded in all directions. ( roof escape panel is allowed) plastic skirting allowed on bottom of doors and quarters. Outside of tires must be widest part of car. 5" spoilers allowed. Spoiler supports no more than 5" tall in rear, 2" tall in front, and 12" long.
6. DRIVER COMPARTMENT: Must have a minimum three windshield bars in front of driver. Lexan or aluminum cowl panel in front of driver can be no wider than cockpit and no farther back than steering wheel. Minimum .125-inch aluminum, or .060-inch steel, complete floor pan required. Aluminum high-back seat only and must be bolted in next to left side frame rail and ahead of rear tires. Bottom of seat can be no lower than bottom of frame rail. Driver must be sealed off from race track, driveline, engine, fuel cell, canisters and pumps. Accumulators cannot be mounted between driver & left-side door bars. No devices that would enable driver adjustment to alter wheelbase or for weight jacking while car is in competition. No mirrors or reflective sun visors.
7. FRONT SUSPENSION: All components must be steel, unaltered OEM, in OEM location and replaced by OEM parts, except tube type upper A-frames with or without aluminum/steel cross shaft & mounts can be moved. OEM replacement lower A-frames bushings only, no offset or bearing type. All lower A-frame mounts and bolt holes on frame must be in stock location. Lower A frame must be right & left & of same design; rubber, nylon, or steel lower A frame bushings, no offset or bearing type: welded or bolted shock mount on lower A frame. Lower A frame mounts & bolt holes on frame must be in OEM, location. OEM ball joints only. Sway bar must be unaltered OEM. After market lower A-Frames are legal.
8. STEERING: All components must be steel, unaltered OEM, in OEM location. except outer tie rod end & adjustment sleeve may be replaced by a minimum .625-inch steel rod end and steel tube; spindles can be ground for brake caliper clearance only; spindles must be right & left, & of the same design; bolt on spindle savers allowed; steel steering shafts & knuckles only. Steering quickener, steering wheel & quick release may be aluminum. Cockpit steering may be modified, must be kept on left side. No rack & pinion.
9. SHOCKS: One steel non-adjustable unaltered shock per wheel. One additional shock allowed on rear suspension. No bumpers or stops, no threaded body, front coil over, air or remote reservoir shocks. Front half may be shielded.
10. SPRINGS: One steel, non progressive coil over spring and/or steel leaf spring per wheel only. One additional spring allowed on pull bar or lift bar, may be progressive. Any coil spring must be at least 4.5 inches O.D. No torsion bars or air bags.
11. REAR SUSPENSION: All components must be steel. No covers allowed. All trailing arms/link bars must be solid tubing. Rear of frames may be altered to accept leaf or coil springs. Steel coil over eliminators or steel/aluminum coil over kits allowed. Must conform to shock and spring rules. One mechanical traction bar (pull or lift bar not both).
12. REAR END: Any steel approved OEM passenger car or truck rear end allowed. Safety hubs (floater) allowed. All components must be steel, except lowering blocks, axle cap, and drive flange. Inspection hole in housing is required. Full steel spool, steel mini spool or welded rear ends only. Steel axles only. No quick change devices, or cambered rear ends. One piece drive flange only. No torque dividing differentials.
13. BUMPERS AND RUB RAILS: Steel only. Bumpers must be used both front and rear at all times and welded or mounted with minimum .375-inch bolts. Must be minimum 1.25-inch O.D. tubing, .065 wall thickness on front, .095 wall thickness on rear. Two-bar front bumpers must be mounted to frame-end to frame-end, no wider than width of material outside frame horns and with bottom loop parallel to ground. Top bar must be directly above bottom bar, minimum 6.5 inches apart, measured center to center. Rear bumper and nerf bars can be no wider than tires.
14. TIRES AND WHEELS: Hoosier E-Mod A or H tires. Hoosier or American Racer IMCA tires only in 2010. In 2011 Hoosier IMCA G-60 (KK704) tires only. Grooving , siping and or grinding of tires is allowed. No re-caps. Aluminum or steel spacers only. May use I.M.C.A. approved bead lock, on right rear only. External, steel bead lock only and it cannot make wheel any narrower than 8 inches and no wider than 8.75 inches. Must use only steel bolts. One foam type or plastic mud cap allowed on right rear only. Rim-mounted bleeder valves allowed.
15. BRAKES: Must be steel approved OEM, operative four wheel, drum or disc. Must maintain OEM dimensions for Hubs/rotors and calipers, cannot be lightened. Bolt patter may be changed. Larger studs allowed. Rear rotors may be aftermarket, min. 0.810-inch thickness. Vented rotors only, no scalloped rotors. No brake shut-off or pressure sensitive devices. One proportioning device allowed, front to rear only. Brake lines must be visible.
16. EXHAUST: Round tube headers only. All primary header tubes must enter directly into one collector, at same point, at end of header. No exhaust sensors. Must run mufflers.
17. FUEL SYSTEM: Mechanical fuel pump only and must be mounted at front of engine. Racing fuel cell required, maximum 32-gallon capacity, must be in minimum 18-gauge steel container. Cell must be securely mounted behind rear axle, between rear tires, minimum of four inches ahead of bumper, minimum of ten inches above ground. Must mount with minimum two .125-inch thick solid steel straps, two inches wide around entire cell. All cell mounts must be steel, securely welded to frame/cage. Protective tubing must cover rear & extend past both sides of cell. No part of cell shall be lower than protective tubing. Fuel cell vents, including cap vent, must have check valves. Pick-up must be on top or right side of cell. Limit of one fuel filter. No cool cans. One naturally aspirated 2-barrel 500 cfm 13/8" venturi carburetor only. May remove choke horn.
18. FUEL: Must be Gasoline . NO performance-enhancing additives. Upper cylinder lube allowed. Fuel sample may be taken from any car at any time. Penalty for illegal fuel is disqualification from event and $250 fine - first offense. No Alcohol. E-85 allowed.
19. WEIGHT: Minimum weight limit of 2,600 pounds, no tolerance, after race with driver in car. No weights and/or loose objects in driver compartment or outside body. Weights must be securely mounted to frame or roll cage and painted white with car number on it. Must be attached with at least two .5-inch bolts. No titanium, magnesium. No gun-drilled, tubular, hollow bolts or studs.
20. BATTERY AND STARTER: One 12-volt battery only, must be shielded & securely mounted between frame rails. Must have capability of starting without being pushed or pulled. Must leave initial staging area on demand, unaided, or go to rear of that race. Reverse-mount starters with OEM case transmissions only. 21. GAUGES AND ELECTRONICS: No transmitting or listening devices, timing retard controls, or digital gauges (including tach). No electronic monitoring computer devices capable of storing or transmitting information except along tach. No adjustable ignition control boxes. Only one 12-volt ignition box allowed, must be out of driver's reach. No additional ignition accessories allowed. Only change allowed to ignition box is one high-end rev-limiter setting. This setting can be changed through one chip only, or an internal setting inside box. No electronic traction control devices ($10,000 fine).
22. TRANSMISSION AND DRIVESHAFT: Must have at least two forward gears & one reverse, plus a neutral position. With engine running and car in still position, must be able to engage car in gear & move forward, then backward. OEM production type I.M.C.A. approved after-market transmissions allowed two speed, three speed, four speed and automatic. No five speed (or more) transmissions, in & out boxes, or quick change devices allowed. Functioning shift levers must be in OEM location on all OEM production type transmissions. Flex plates must be full steel, unaltered OEM or OEM replacement. Flywheel/flex plate must bolt to engine between clutch assembly & crankshaft & all driving components within bell housing must rotate while car is in any gear. Transmissions must be one of the following designs: MANUAL: Must have a standard OEM case & working disc-type clutch or approved cone or disc type coupler inside an explosion proof steel bell housing. One fly wheel only, minimum 8.5 inches diameter. Diameter of clutch disc must be a minimum of 5.5 inches. Clutch assembly must be steel, except housing, which must be steel and/or aluminum. Bell housing can have only a hole for throw out bearing lever or hose, must be 270 degrees around top of clutch and flywheel area. Standard or reverse mount starter allowed, must directly engage flywheel. No internal clutch type transmissions. Except automatics. AUTOMATIC: Must remain in OEM or OEM replacement case with a functioning OEM appearing pump. Must have an approved scatter shield. Scatter shield must be constructed of minimum of .125-inch by three-inch steel, 270 degrees around flex plate. DRIVE SHAFT: Minimum two-inch diameter steel drive shaft & must be painted white. Steel slip-yokes only. 360-degree drive shaft loop required and must be constructed of at least .25-inch by two-inch steel, or one-inch tubing, mounted six inches back from front U-joint.
23. ENGINE LOCATION: Rear of engine (bell housing flange) must be mounted at least 72 inches forward from the centerline of rear axle. Engines offset must be kept within 2 inches of centerline of front cross member with engine level. Minimum 11-inch engine height from ground to center of crankshaft. Radiator must be mounted in front of engine. Cooling system may be modified. Overflow tubes must be directed to ground between frame rails. 24. ENGINE SPECIFICAIONS: Any American made engine allowed. Steel heads, block & oil pan only. All engines must be able to be used in conventional passenger car without alterations. Engine mounts cannot be removed or altered. Castings and fittings must not be changed. Wet oiling system only. No Roller cams. |
